Tracy Centanni, PhD
Dr. Centanni is the lab director and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at the University of Florida. She completed her PhD in Cognition and Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2013, followed by postdoctoral work at MGH Institute of Health Professions and MIT. The GAPP Lab was established at Texas Christian University in 2017 and moved to UF in 2023. Her research focuses on the brain bases of auditory and visual perception of language, reading acquisition, genetics of communication disorders, and plasticity. When not in the lab, she enjoys traveling and exploring new food and wine with her husband and training her two young horses: Banner and Dakota.

Staff
We are currently looking to hire a full-time laboratory manager. The lab manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the lab, including recruiting families and community partners, implementing behavioral, neuroimaging, (primarily MRI and EEG), and neuromodulation (non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation) studies, managing data storage and processing, teaching and supervising undergraduate research assistants to implement studies and process data, coordinating IRBs and other research documentation, and managing lab equipment and the lab website.
